That IS the question.

Sometimes the real leadership challenge is closer than you think.

To Do list

Chances are you have a To Do list of some form or another.  On paper, on your phone, on your computer, or one rolling around in your head.
And it keeps you on task and allegedly productive.

What better feeling is there than crossing many or even all things (does that ever happen?) off that To Do list.
As Shakespeare’s cousin once said, “To do, or not to do: that is the question.”
The more I get done, the more successful I’ll be. Right? Right???

Well as we all know, any sense of accomplishment is short-lived.  As soon as we cross items off our list, we add more.
Our own Sisyphean reality.

So, how can we make our To Do list better?
How about a To Be list – three ways you want to show up each day. Three ways you aspire to be better.
Why not put that at the top of your To Do list, as a reminder of what truly matters.

Will a To Be list get you a raise, a promotion, or make you more productive?
Or what about successful? Will it make you more successful??
It depends on how you define “success”:

In the end, were you busy checking things off—or instead were you living deliberately?
