It’s More than Just Reading
So don’t waste your time.
I hope your 2025 is off to a great start.
With a new year, come New Year’s resolutions. And sometimes that includes reading a good leadership book or two.
But remember, leadership books continue to sell because they don’t work.
No one wrote the Bible II, the Quran II, or the Talmud II.
The first versions were more than sufficient, and they changed people’s lives.
But what about books on leadership?
How often have you read one and said, “Wow, that’s really true. I should do that.” or “What a great insight. I need to lead more like that.”
And then a week or two later…..nothing’s changed.
No need to blame yourself. We’ve all done it and we all do it.
So after you’ve read your next leadership book, don’t ask yourself, “What did I learn?”
Instead, ask yourself, “What will I do?”
Because if a leadership book doesn’t change your behavior, it’s really just a novel that’s entertained you…and also wasted your time.
